Welcome to Food & Fitness Friend! I’m Sarah, a born NYer trying my best to navigate life in Boston without getting beat up by Boston sports fans, while learning everything I can about food and nutrition. I recently received my Masters of Science in Nutrition Communication at Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy (wow that’s a mouthful). I’m finishing up my education with a year long dietetic internship at Brigham and Women’s hospital here in Boston so that I can become a registered dietitian (RD).
As you probably guessed, I’m a big fan of both food and exercise. I love everything there is to love about food – shopping for it (can’t get enough of farmers markets!), cooking it, eating it, and writing about it. Exercise is also a really big part of my life. I’m a certified spin instructor and teach at a gym in Brookline, MA 2 times per week. I am also an avid runner and have completed 4 half marathons along with many shorter races. My latest athletic endeavor has been triathlons — I completed my first one last summer, and I may just be addicted.
I am really passionate about nutrition and exercise and think both should be fun and neither should be a burden. As a future RD and nutrition communications specialist I want to help people find a happy relationship with both food and exercise and hopefully this little blog is will lead you in that direction. Read more about my thoughts on food & fitness here.
